ok I have a problem yesterday I pulled a new internet cablevision from my modem to my office (cat 7)

but the problem is that I still receive 100mbps on my pc,

simply if I plug the aforementioned cable into my laptop I go 250mbps download (exactly what my subscription says)

I too removed and reinstalled the drivers from Realtek, I as well set speed and duplex to ane gigabit, and I started in windows safe manner to meet if I tin can attain those speeds in that location but unfortunately, I only got 100mbps aslo in there

There are not many things that tin can cause this since it is not really a software affair unless y'all force it to 100mbps with software. This is done mostly at a very low hardware level so the problems always tends to be physical issues.

You either have something wrong with the ports on either end or you have a bad cable. Bad ports you can't set anyway but lucky it is very rare. It would be nice if a bad cable would just not work but in most the time they work randomly sometime on other machines and sometime but plugging and replugging them fixes it for a while .

Information technology is normally some issue with the finish of the cable being just slightly damaged or loose in some way.

In that location are false cables that are non pure copper or take modest wires that y'all get foreign results because they exercise non meet the standards for ethernet cables.

Cheque to be certain "Motorcar Disable Gigabit" isn't enabled in the drivers.

I don't know why Realtek fifty-fifty put that setting in at that place, but obviously it's to save less than a watt of free energy.

I just looked and I see that information technology is but switched off, I find information technology weird that i accept that problem, i had a look online and looks like im the only one with this problem

It could be that i of the conductors on the stop of that cable is not making a good connection with the jack, because only half of the wires are needed for x/100 operation. And then the easiest thing to try is a new cable, or even reversing the one you've got (equally it conspicuously works at gigabit).

Or else the NIC could only be bad!

There are non many things that can crusade this since it is not really a software affair unless y'all force it to 100mbps with software. This is washed mostly at a very depression hardware level so the problems always tends to be physical bug.

You either take something incorrect with the ports on either cease or you lot take a bad cable. Bad ports you lot can't fix anyway only lucky it is very rare. It would be nice if a bad cable would just not piece of work but in most the fourth dimension they work randomly sometime on other machines and sometime simply plugging and replugging them fixes it for a while .

It is normally some issue with the cease of the cable being just slightly damaged or loose in some way.

There are simulated cables that are non pure copper or have small-scale wires that yous go foreign results because they do non meet the standards for ethernet cables.

It could be that one of the conductors on the end of that cable is not making a skilful connectedness with the jack, considering merely half of the wires are needed for ten/100 operation. So the easiest matter to endeavour is a new cable, or fifty-fifty reversing the one you've got (every bit it clearly works at gigabit).

Or else the NIC could just be bad!

I have changed the cable and zero still 100mbps, I did too cleaned the port on my pc, there was a piffling bit of dust but that wasn't the problem either

At that place are not many things that can cause this since information technology is non actually a software thing unless you strength it to 100mbps with software. This is done generally at a very low hardware level so the bug e'er tends to be concrete problems.

Yous either have something incorrect with the ports on either end or you have a bad cable. Bad ports you can't fix anyway merely lucky it is very rare. Information technology would exist dainty if a bad cablevision would just not piece of work but in most the fourth dimension they work randomly sometime on other machines and sometime just plugging and replugging them fixes it for a while .

It is normally some issue with the end of the cablevision being just slightly damaged or loose in some manner.

At that place are fake cables that are non pure copper or have small wires that you lot become foreign results because they do not encounter the standards for ethernet cables.

I have an electrical groundwork, and I am 100% certain that it is properly continued. and directly but to my standers
and I have a cat 7 SFTP 23awg, and believe me if it wasn't a cat7 I really didn't pull it upwards to my office

and it must be a bad port why can my laptop with exactly the same cablevision and port just 250mbps?

If yous take wall jacks just remove and re punch the connectors information technology is adequately piece of cake to try.

If you really recollect it is a bad port in your pc yous accept few option. Yous tin can not fix it so you must buy either a add in pcie board or utilize a USB port.

Am I missing something? All OP needs is a cable and directly attaching the laptop to the PC to examination if information technology lights upward at 1Gbit.

They don't even need to set a fixed IPv4 address, just to look at the blinky lights

fixed the trouble, after some digging when I saw that the calculator and laptop had a gigabyte connection, I started looking in the router itself, did a new software install. and low and behold my figurer is getting the 250mbps like it should
